An Incomplete Story

An Incomplete Story

Neither all stories are true
nor do all have a happy ending.
Sometimes we may find a clue
Sometimes it is teeth grinding!
Life is one long zigzag story -
our characters are long or brief.
Consider your role transitionary,
If destiny is God... time is a thief!

The Open Door

The Open Door

A cozy corner- a hidden place
on a cream tiled floor.
That's what I call "my space"
just in front of the open door.
The cold tiles makes me feel good
during the summer evenings.
Inspiration often lifts up my mood,
words start getting wings.
The open door gives me solace
as hectic thoughts can run free.
And I can look at Present's face
while searching for Future's key.

Love For Food

Love for Food

Weekends work as catalyst
to incite our hidden craving.
Fingers curl into the fist…
Umm…chicken wings are enticing!
That pizza with overflowing cheese.
That burger with French fries.
This heart doesn’t feel any unease
as good food needs no disguise.
Love for food is bona fide –
only those who agree understand.
It’s so hard to select and decide –
cravings do get out of hand.
Lucky are those who place the order
before they get sold out.
But night owls like me have to suffer…
Unlucky foodies can only pout!

To be continued…

To be continued...

It's a season of suspense.
As soon as I clicked the play button,
I saw the convict escape.
A race against time begins.
The voice of a ghost suddenly
whispers a great prophesy -
To be continued...

Teenage

Teenage

As I reached my 13th birthday,
I learnt Im now a teen.
And less than 10 years away,
it’ll end with number 19.
“Big deal!” I foolishly thought,
what might actually change?
I was wrong, beyond any doubt,
when things started turning strange.
Eww, the acne…arghhh…hair growth,
where they never existed before!
Tragedy covered in layers of loath
creeped me out more and more.
Crazy hormones did crazier things –
I’m sure all of you felt the same.
Teenage changes so many things…
don’t be fooled by its fancy name!

Get Together

Get Together

Hey sweetheart, how was your day?
For so many hours you were away.
I searched for you far and nearby.
I looked for you up in the sky.
When I got too tired to search,
I rested awhile on that pigeon’s perch.
Look, I gathered something to eat
and splashed some water on my feet.
I’ve been waiting for you all evening.
Glad you’re back, my dearest darling!
Now it’s time for us to return.
Another day’s work is fruitfully done
Whether it’s bad or fair weather
separation only makes us get together.

Photograph

Photograph

I have seen you gazing lovingly.
I have seen you silently cry.
I have seen you laugh rejoicingly
and regrettingly sigh.
I’ve seen you change with age.
I’ve seen you evolve and grow.
Escaping your own thought’s cage,
I watched you escape – I know.
You and I- we are the same.
You’re half and I’m the other half.
Still caged in a photoframe,
Im just a photograph.

Change might unchange

Change might unchange

“Do you have any change?
I came to buy some groceries.
Seeing such a wide range,
Im short of a few pennies.
Now I need to get a cart
to carry the items to the car.
They will soon close the mart
and my home is quite far.”
Will you help a stranger in need
if you ever encounter one?
Or with certain people accede,
compassion is owed to none.
Kindness is a rare virtue,
if your conscience is still alive.
Change might unchange too,
if humanity wants to thrive.
