The Bonfire

With crackle and woosh glowed the golden veil.
Yellow stained with orange streaks rose high
The dry bark and crusty twigs began to flail –
the drunken bonfire lit up the mouldy tired sky.
The wilful waves brazenly crashed ashore.
The briny breeze brimming with sandy grains
caressed the carelessly tangled hair more –
the covert crickets chirped cryptic refrains.
Hues of black engulfed the damp beach,
waves guiding the pair of wandering feet.
The bonfire seethed – unable to reach
the lucky leaves saved from fire and heat.
The embers fizzle and hiss till the end of night.
Ashes of the bleary evening stains the pit.
The dawn slowly yawns and smiles bright
It’s a new beginning…exist before you quit.

I'm the vast azure sky...I always look up very high. I'm the indefatigable air...my mark is present everywhere. I'm the water of ocean and sea...you just can't live without me. I'm the unrestrained fire. I'm a secret desire. I'm the ineffable earth. I'm ineluctable since birth !!
